Why commission a mural?

Murals are a creative and awe inspiring way to brighten up a personal space or draw attention to a business by providing a colourful fun environment to be in.

I may be biased but I personally love a space with a bit of character and Ejits are brimming with it. A mural can really shift an environment from being blank and humdrum into a lively and vibrant space that is a pure joy to inhabit.

If you love my style and it aligns with your aesthetic a mural by Ejits will keep on giving. Please have a look at the FAQs below and then get in touch with me at the bottom of the page.

FAQs

  • The price of a mural depends heavily on several factors. The main influences on price are the size, location, the type of surface (material and texture) and whether it needs any preparation before painting and the ease (or not) of access. Every mural is unique so it’s best to get in touch and ask for a quote for your specific mural requirements.

When asking for a quote please include as much information about the space as possible along with any photos you can attach that give me a good idea of the scale and surface texture. Ideally I would visit the site and meet with you but if that’s not possible I would quote from the photos and dimensions that you provide.

  • Again this depends on a few factors, scale being the main one. A 3m x 3m space would take me approximately 4 days to complete but this also depends on the complexity of the design and the number of colours involved so it’s a rough estimate. I can give more accurate timings once I know what I’m painting and on what surface.

If it’s an external mural, forces outside of my control would need to be taken into account and extra time given if painting needs to be halted due to bad weather conditions.

The quality of the work I produce is high so I like to be able to take my time in order to achieve a high level of finish.

  • Any information about very large or difficult-to-reach spaces needs to be provided when you email me for a quote.

I prefer that you take responsibility for providing access but if you need help deciding on and/or sourcing the right equipment like scaffolding or lifts I can provide some information.

Most spaces can be reached so don’t worry if you’re not sure, just don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can figure it out together.

  • The copyright of any commissioned artwork belongs to me (the artist). The client is granted a licence to use the artwork solely for the purposes of the mural and photography of the mural in situ as long as there are no monetary gains.

Our initial agreement will include the use of photos of the mural on your social media account as you wish. I do ask that the work be attributed to me where ever possible including credit to me (Ejits) in the form of either a tag or mention in the caption of any posts.

The design and artwork itself must not be used for commercial gain without my express permission and a legal agreement usually pertaining to royalties.

Basically, you have the mural in situ and can take photos and share them for your own use BUT if the artwork is to be used directly for monetary gains in any way (for example as a backdrop to advertising campaigns or to sell your Airbnb as more desirable) I must be notified and an agreement set. I reserve the right to ask for a percentage of those monetary gains.

For more detailed information about this please ask me for the full terms & conditions of my services.

  • The first step is to contact me with as much information about the space and any ideas you have for the mural. Ideally, I would then try to meet with you to see the space in person and discuss what you are looking for further. I’ll then form an initial quote for the work based on that information.

Once the price has been agreed I will ask for 50% as deposit upfront. This pays for the design stage and the materials I will require to paint the mural. I will then sketch and mock-up one or two designs based on all of the information you’ve given me. You can either have something specific in mind that I’ll work my Ejits magic on or you can give me an open brief and let me come up with ideas.

Once the design has been completed and approved by you I can start gathering the materials I need and any access equipment should be put in place. Then the painting can start. I’ll keep you informed of the progress and once complete I would send my final invoice for the 50% remaining.

If there is scaffolding in place I will revisit the site once it’s been taken down to take photos of the piece and post these to my website and social media which you would be welcome to use.

And that’s it! All done and you have a brand spanking shiny new colourful mural to brighten up your space.

If you’re interested in commissioning a mural please don’t hesitate to get in touch and feel free to ask any questions that I haven’t covered above.

The best way to do this is by emailing me and please give as much information as you can:
